Transition Task Evaluation

1) What did you find the most challenging and why? I found many aspects of the media transition task challenging. I feel filming the remake of a music video has prepared me thoroughly for A2 media and shown me what is expected of a piece of A2 work. I personally feel the filming of the music video was the most challenging as having to do a remake meant making sure the mise-en-scene and cinematography worked perfectly in unison to the sound. We chose Fouls - ‘Out Of the Woods’ as our music video and the mise-en-scene in this is very 70s influenced. The editing process throughout the task was the easiest aspect and we found matching the video to the sound quite easy, as we planned the timings out before filming. 2) What will you do differently when you make your A2 product next year? When making my A2 product next year I will definitely try to improve on the filming quality. More planning and research will go into my product which will hopefully make the quality a lot better. Having more time will definitely help the process of making my A2 product as it won’t be rushed and I will hopefully be able to produce much better and more professional work. 3) How has doing this task helped you and why? What have you taken away from this experience? The transition task has helped in great amounts and as mentioned before, has definitely shown me what is expected from A2. Aspects that I have taken away from this experience include knowing how much work needs to be put into making a music video. Creativity is definitely a large aspect and I plan on using planning and research greatly to make sure I push myself into making a creative and individual piece of work. I will make sure to give myself more time for each individual aspect of the music video, especially the filming as I found the cinematography aspect of the transition task very difficult. 4) How successful was your product? Why do you think it was successful or unsuccessful? I feel my product was both successful and unsuccessful. As a first attempt I feel it was successful and followed the original music video to a great degree. I feel it was unsuccessful in the fact the camerawork and cinematography wasn’t at a great level of accuracy. 5) How do you feel about developing to A2 level now you have completed this task? I feel developing to A2 level is going to be a lot more difficult and completing the transition task has definitely shown this, but I believe it is definitely doable and I feel both excited and anxious to get started. 6) What do you like most/least about your final product My favourite aspect of my final product is the flashing imagery between the four quick shots as I think that’s the closest part of our product to the original music video.
